PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Levamisole belongs at the group of imidazathiozoles and it is by far better than tetramizole as far as security, efficacy and dosage are concerned. Levamisole causes rise of the intestine movements of the animals, which result in the elimination of paralytic worms within 24-36 hours by the beginning of the treatment.

INDICATIONS
It’s a broad spectrum anthelminthic and effective for dealing with nematodes worms. It is used for the prevention and the treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary strongyloidosis of the small ruminants. Especially, levamisole is effective against mature and immature stages of the following species:
Ηaemonchus spp, Neoascaris vitulorum, Trichostrongylus spp, Oesophagostomum spp, Marsallagia mareshalli, Dictyocaulus filaria, Cooperia spp, Bunostomum spp, Nematodirus spp, Chabertia ovina, Thelagia spp.
It is very effective against  resistant  strains at benzimidazoles of Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcincta and    Trichostrongylus spp.

DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral administration at once:
1 bolus per 50 kg of body weight, which equals to 8 mg Levamisole per kg of body weight.

CONTRA INDICATIONS
Do not administer to other animals except these which it is appropriated

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
When the animals receive doses bigger than theurapetical ones, may appear symptoms of hypersensitivity, which are combined with movements of the head, movements of  licking lips, salivation, creation of foam around the lips, muscular tremors and excitation. Those symptoms appear very quickly (10-20 minutes) after administration, but retreat within 4-6 hours.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS
The administration of Levamisole must not be followed at least for 72 hours from: a) tetrachloride carbon b)exachloroethanium, c)thioxic  bithionoly d)tartaric pyrantelium , because the combination could be toxic

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Do not administer during the lactated period.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Do not administer to animals with renal and hepatic insufficiency as and to animals with dermal disorders if is going to follow bathroom or to be exposed in powerful rain
