COMPOSITION (per gr):  
Oxytetracycline hydrochloride                             1.000mg

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Oxytetracycline is bacteriostatic antibacterial and belongs at the group of tetracyclines. Its main action is due to its ability to conjugates with the subunit 30 S of ribosomes, with result to inhibit the protein synthesis inhibiting the m-RNA synthesis from the t-RNA. It is effective against multitude Gram(+) and Gram(-) microorganisms.

TARGET SPECIES
Pigs, broilers and calves (before the beginning of rumen function)

INDICATIONS
It is recommended for the treatment of infections caused by bacterias sensitive at the action of hydrochloric oxytetracycline.
Especially:
Calves (before the beginning of rumen function): bronchopneumonia and pleuropneumonia caused by Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus somnus and Mycoplasma spp.
Pigs: atrophic rhinitis, caused by Pasteurella spp. and Bordetella bronchiseptica. Bronchopneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mycoplasma spp, Pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, infections of gastrointestinal tube caused by Clostridium perfigens.
Broilers: Infections of respiratory system caused by Mycoplasma spp. and Bordetella spp., enteritis caused by Clostridium perfigens.

DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Calves (before the beginning of rumen function): Generally, it is administered in dosage of 10-20mg hydrochloride oxytetracycline per kg of body weight / 12 hours, for 3-5 days
Pigs: Generally, it is administered in dosage of 20-40mg hydrochloride oxytetracycline per kg of body weight, after diluting into potable water or with addition in the daily quantity of ratio, for 3-5 days.   
Broilers: Generally, it is administered dosage of 25-150mg hydrochloride oxytetracycline per kg of body weight, after diluting it into potable water or with addition at the daily quantity of ratio, for 3-5 days

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity at tetracyclines, hepatic or renal insufficiency.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIE
a) Do not administer to calves after the beginning of rumen function b) Do not administer to layers, which eggs are appropriated for human consumption.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
Hypersensitivity reactions and gastrointestinal disorders. The use of oxytetracycline during the teething season and proceed pregnancy can lead to teeth discoloration.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS
It should be avoided simultaneous administration of hydrochloric oxytetracycline with bacteriostatic substances (such as penicillins and cephalosporines)

INCOMPATIBILITY
Hydrochloric oxytetracycline has the ability to form simplex unions with bivalent metallic ions. This creation affects the bioavailibility of the product.

OVERDOSE
It’s very difficult to be created toxicosis with doxycycline, according to international bibliography (minimal cases have been reported). In those
cases is enforced to stop directly the administration and to start the symptomatic treatment to the weakling.

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Do not administer the last two months of pregnancy.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
  •     The environmental temperature affects the quantity of the potable solution that is consumed by animals, by the animal’s health e.t.c. Therefore, it is recommended to adjust the dosage continuously at the present conditions, so as to preserve the theurapetical dosages of hydrochloric oxytetracycline.
  •     The hardness of water should be considered.
  •     Before the addition of the product into the potable water, it should be diluted in warm water.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY THE PERSON ADMINISTERING THE PRODUCT TO ANIMALS
People who use this product should use gloves and mask.
WITHDRAWAL TIME
Meat:     Calves:     8 days
              Pigs:       5 days
              Poultry: 15 days

STORAGE
Storage it in room temperature (15-25o C).

SHELF LIFE:
3    years when it is stored in room temperature (< 250 C)  in dark and dry place
After diluting into potable water, the product remains stable for 12 hours, in room temperature (15-25C).

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIAL, IF ANY:
The disposal or the unused product must be made away with safety
