Target species
Pigs, broilers, layers, turkeys, ducks.

Indications
For the treatment and control of bacterial enteritis of pigs and poultry that is caused by microorganisms that are sensitive in neomycin. It is also indicated for microorganisms that are sensitive in neomycin and usually are complicated with the  Chronic Respiratory Disease.

Contra - indications
There are no contra-indications as long as it is administrated in the proper dosology

Special warnings for each target species
Do not administer in very young or very old animals
Do not administer in laying hens that their eggs are destinated for human consumption

Special precautions for use
Special precautions for use in animals
If there is not any improvement within 3 days, the diagnosis should be reviewed and the change of treatment should be examined. If the diarrhoea is complicated with other infections systematic antibacterial treatment must be administrated.

Special precautions that should be taken from the person administrating the veterinary medicinal product in animals
It is recommended to wear mask during the administration of the product

Undesirable effects
There are no undesirable effects as long as it is administrated in the proper dosology

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Because of the fact that the absorbance of neomycin by the gastrointestinal tract is minimal, there are no special precautions during pregnancy and lactation

Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interactions
The interactions refer to parenteral administration

Posology and method of administration
In general the daily dose per os for pigs and poultry is 11mg of sulphate neomycin/kg B.W. per day. The route of administration is orally by dilution in the  potable water
The weight in kilos of the pigs and poultry is multiplied with 16 and divided afterwards with 1000. The number that comes up represents the grams of STARMYCIN in powder that should be dissolved in water. The proper dose is added in potable water that is going to be consumed by poultry within 12 hours. The administration of STARMYCIN must be done daily. During treatment there must not be any other water available.

It is storaged in room temperature (less than 25 oC) in dark and dry place without humidity.
