PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic, with antibacterial action. It acts inhibiting the proteinic synthesis by conjugating with the ribosome of sensitive bacterias.
TARGET SPECIES
Pigs and poultry.
INDICATIONS
It is administered for treatment of infections caused by Gram + and Gram – bacterias, sensitive at oxytetracycline. Also, sensitive at Mycoplasma spp, Borelia spp, Chlamydia spp, Ricketsia spp, and some protozoon.
Especially,
Pigs: Rosella, syndrome of mastitis – mitritis- agalaxia, infections that follow enzoo pneumonia.
Poultry: Prevention of implication of chronic respiratory diseases (infection of airbags), so as to reduce cases of death. Prevention of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive at tetracyclines during period of stress. Prevention of infective hepatitis of poultry and control and prevention of coccidiosis caused by E. tenella.
DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Pigs: 10-30mg per kg of body weight per 24 hours. (8,5 - 25 gr of the product per 50 kg of body weight daily)
Poultry: 3,3 – 8,3 kg of the product per tοn of feed
33,3 – 100 gr of the product per 100lt of potable water
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines and, to animals with renal or hepatic insufficiency.
UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
• Reactions of hypersensitivity, and disaster of micro flora and gastrointestal disorders.
• Use of tetracycline, during the last days of pregnancy and during the development of teeth may cause changes at their coloration.
INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS
The absorption of tetracyclines is reduced when it is administered simultaneously with antioxins, cathartics, or products that contain argile, magnesium, calcium, bismuth, zinc, or iron. There is competition of its antibacterial action when it is administered simultaneously with antibacterial substances (penicillins, kefalosporines, aminoglycosides)

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
At embryos, tetracyclines create simplex unions with constituents of bones. So, the administration of tetracyclines during pregnancy and development of teeth is possible to cause teeth discoloration.

Do not administer to animals with renal and hepatic insufficiency.

Keep in a cool and dry place
SHELF LIFE:
24 months when is stored in a cool and dry place, at shadow. Mixed with nutrition, it is preserved for 1 month.
